Yokohama Calling – Founders

Eiji Shimizu is from Yokohama, Japan. He is a Director of Yokohama Calling. Eiji is the owner of Sway Gallery in London, Paris and Stockholm which presents Japanese excellence through art exhibitions in the gallery spaces and beautifully crafted made in Japan products in the gallery shop.  He is a passionate jazz lover and a regular at many of the jazz clubs in Yokohama, London and Paris.

Nick Cohen is from London, UK. He is Creative Director of Yokohama Calling. As a musician, Nick has worked with many high profile groups in popular, blues and jazz music for over 25 years in the UK and across the world. He is also a music teacher and a contributor to community outreach programs. Nick has been working in Japan regularly as a musician for over 20 years.

Keith Valler is from London, UK. He is Managing Director of Yokohama Calling. Keith co-founded the Alltone Records jazz label in London in 1997 which worked with the cream of the UK jazz scene and won a BBC best jazz album of the year award. He is the owner of a London based graphic design, branding and digital marketing agency which has been active for over 20 years. Keith has been a regular visitor to Japan for over 25 years.
